Field Trips at Over The Moon

Fun and educational programs for preschool through 5th grade!

  • How much does it cost to play?
Open Play is $14 for the first child and $12 for additional children in the same household . There is no charge for adults or for babies under 1 year when they are accompanying an older sibling.
  • Do you charge for adults?
No. We charge per-child, and we know that adults come with children. But that doesn't mean you can't have fun, too!
  • Do you offer memberships?
Yes! Head on over to our Memberships page to learn more and join.
  • Can I buy a gift certificate?
Yes! Check our our Gift Certificates page for more information and to purchase.
  • How do you support nursing mothers and everyone feeding babies?
Nursing mothers are, of course, encouraged to nurse anywhere they are comfortable at Over The Moon! We have provided couches in the toddler area, and other chairs around the space. For those who would like more privacy or have other feeding needs, we also have a mother's room that provides: A comfortable chair with footrest A nursing pillow A bottle warmer A fan A phone charger Toys to keep a little one busy Tissues and wipes An outlet for pumping Complimentary bottles of water and Dove chocolates If there's anything else that would be helpful to you, please let us know and we'll try to make it happen!
  • Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, all adults need to sign a waiver, and all children need a waiver signed on their behalf. Waivers are usually signed when booking. Anyone else can sign a waiver by going to overthemoonplay.com/waiver
  • Can I drop off my kids?
No. We are not a drop-off facility, or daycare. Children must be supervised by adults at all times.
  • Do you have wifi? Can I work in the space while my kids play?
We do have free wifi. The space is almost entirely open and visible from the tables and desks in our cafe area. However, please keep in mind that you are responsible for your child and their safety at all times.
  • What's the deal with snacks and drinks?
We ask that all food and drink stay in our snack area. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have an assortment of reasonably priced drinks and snacks for purchase at a self-checkout kiosk. We ask that you help us keep the area clean. Did we mention we have a fancy-schmancy one button bean-to-cup espresso/latte/cappuccino machine that also makes hot chocolate? If you have suggestions for snacks you would appreciate having, please let us know!
  • Do you have a microwave?
Yes! Please help us to keep it clean.
  • What’s the deal with socks and shoes for kids and adults?
We are a no shoes / yes socks facility for kids and adults. If you forget socks we have socks you can borrow for free, or we sell new socks for $2 per pair (grippy for children), payable at our self-checkout cafe kiosk. Grippy socks are not required, but some children prefer them for some of our equipment.
  • Are you a sensory-friendly facility?
We have carefully designed our space to not be overstimulating, but we know that all kids have different needs. We have headphones and sensory calm down kits available above our cafe check out area.
  • What is the restroom setup?
We have two private, gender-neutral, handicap accessible family restrooms, as well as a women’s restroom with three stalls (one accessible). In each, there is a changing table, a baby seat, and a step-stool.
  • Is the space accessible?
The doors and restrooms are all accessible. Most of the play area is accessible to varying degrees. There are no steps in the space with the exception of up to the second and third floor of the rocketship, though the mat under the bouldering wall is 8 inches high. The first floor of the rocket is level with the ground around it, and it has a 29-inch entrance and exit. Part of the facility has "poured in place" rubber flooring, like you find on many playgrounds. At least one adult guest said it was a bit soft for him to wheel himself comfortably on. We've also been advised that our front doors, while technically accessible, are on the heavier side. If you need assistance with the doors or anything else, please feel free to call or text for the most immediate response: 919-238-9229. Or email if you know in advance you'll need assistance: info@overthemoonplay.com
  • Are you a nut-free facility?
No. Because guests are free to bring their own food, we are not able to be nut-free. All of the snacks we sell are appropriately labeled. Some of them contain nuts, though we have avoided items with peanuts.
  • Do you sell, or can we bring, alcoholic beverages?
No, alcoholic beverages are not allowed, including at private events and birthday parties.
  • Can I rent the entire facility for an event?
Please email us and we’d be happy to discuss: info@overthemoonplay.com
  • What are your refund policies?
Open Play: You may reschedule your Open Play time until 2 hours before your appointment using the "Change" button in the confirmation email, but it is not refundable if canceled or not attended. In the case of illness we are happy to provide a credit. Birthday Parties: Parties cancelled more at least 2 weeks in advance will receive a refund of all but a $50 administrative fee. Parties cancelled less than 2 weeks in advance will not be refunded. If the birthday child or their immediate family is sick, we are happy to reschedule or provide a full refund (minus any food costs we have already incurred).
