Join us for fun, play, and learning, each week with a different STEM spin!

Campers will explore and learn about a new topic each week, through structured activities, hands-on experiments, crafts, and open play time

Spend time outdoors each day at a nearby park (weather permitting)

2022 Summer Camps
Astronaut Training
Weeks of June 13 & July 25
Now accepting applications for astronaut trainees! Campers will speed through a space relay, learn about planets and other objects in space, have a coding dance party, and launch their own bottle rockets!
Green Planet Art Camp
Weeks of June 20 & Aug. 1
Budding artists will explore a variety of crafts related to our own planet Earth! Campers will create sun catchers with dried plants, jewelry that changes color in the sun, bubble art, animal masks, air spinners, and leaf crowns, while learning about what makes our planet so special. Campers will also use found objects to create an Earth mural which will be displayed in the play space!
Gizmos & Gadgets
Weeks of June 27 & Aug. 8
Junior engineers will complete a series of design challenges to build all kinds of creative and functional contraptions! Campers will work with k’nex, legos, keva planks, tubelox, cardboard, and a variety of other building materials to collaboratively design solutions to solve problems.
Rockin’ Reactions
Weeks of July 11 & Aug. 15
Beginner chemists will conduct some exciting and messy experiments while learning all about matter! Campers will experiment with solids, liquids, and gases as they learn about chemistry and how mixtures can combine to create new substances. Campers will create their own slime, bouncy balls, fizzing moon rocks, and even elephant toothpaste!
Ocean Explorers
Weeks of July 18 & Aug. 22
Junior oceanographers will spend the week exploring different ocean habitats! From investigating animals who live in tide pools to experiments to see deep sea vents in action, campers will explore the creatures and climate conditions that make each ocean habitat unique. We will learn about human impacts on the ocean & collect discarded materials to make ocean art. Campers will also create a fish print t-shirt to take home!
Best-of-Camp 2022
Week of July 5-8
This special 4-day holiday-week camp will be packed with highlights from all of the camps we have done in the past year! Campers will complete STEAM challenges, creative art projects, chemistry experiments, and end the week with a make-your-own ice cream party!

$300 per week (10% off for members!)
Drop-Off between 8:30am to 8:50am
Pickup at 3:00pm
$75 per week for aftercare from 3pm-5pm
50% is due at time of booking

Camp Staff
Zanetha (she/her)

Zanetha is a North Carolina native, born and raised in Charlotte, NC. After earning a BS in Elementary Education, Zanetha moved to Raleigh, NC. She has taught first and second grade in Wake County on a traditional and year round schedule. In her free time, Zanetha enjoys spending time with her son and trying out new restaurants.
Alex (she/her)

Alex has had over 10 years of experience teaching science lessons at museums, afterschool programs, and herpetology centers. She loves to inspire children’s natural curiosity with hands-on STEAM projects and imaginative play. Right now, she enjoys spending time with family and exploring the outdoors. Soon, she hopes to be a museum educator at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.
Marlo (they/them)

Originally from Fayetteville, Marlo has lived in Durham with their partner since mid-2021. They are excited about combining education and play in a non-traditional environment with lots of room for creativity and imagination! Their prior work as a licensed mental health counselor and 10+ years of combined experience as a piano instructor & music educator inform their passion for fun-filled experiential learning. In their free time, Marlo can be found playing video games, visiting NC’s beaches, or checking out local outdoor parks, gardens, and plant nurseries.
Donna (she/her)

Donna grew up in the Triangle area, and graduated from Meredith College with a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters in teaching ESL. Currently, she is a dual-language kindergarten teacher in the Triangle. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking with her dog, learning new things, and spending time with her friends.
Kristen (she/her)

Kristen was born and raised in Cary, NC. She earned her BS in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University, with a concentration in math, science, and technology. She taught 3rd grade in Wake County on a traditional schedule. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, painting, skiing, and trying out local coffee shops.
Millie (she/her)

Millie is a graduate from the University of Memphis with a B.A. in psychology. She loves to work with children and has a passion for safety! She has a background in aquatics management and loves helping make Over The Moon a safe and exciting experience for all individuals. On her day off she loves to run, do yoga, and spend time with her dog, Thunder!
